For a multifamily building in which a dwelling unit has 1 outdoor unit and 2 or more indoor units, you will need to create an additional Building/Dwelling Units for the additional indoor units. For example, Dwelling Unit #1 could be renamed to Dwelling Unit #1A, then a second unit would be created and named Dwelling Unit #1B. This will trigger two duct leakage tests.
You will be charged one base fee, but you will need to contact CalCERTS to resolve this during the registration process. See instructions below:
Step 1: From the CF1R screen for each building, use the "Buildings/Dwelling Units" tab to create another "8 units" (the number of units may vary per building).
Step 2: Rename the 2nd building to uniquely identify it, for example: Building 1 -2nd HVAC.
Step 3: Click the "Units" link.
Step 4: Click "Save Changes"
Step 5 : From the "Dwelling Units" page, click the "Actions" tab at top right of screen and select "Edit Multiple Units" from the drop-down list.
Step 6: Rename the Dwelling Unit Names to clearly identify the systems.
Step 7: Complete and submit the original first Unit forms CF2R-MCH-01 and CF2R-MCH-20.
Step 8: Complete and submit only the CF2R-MCH-01 for the additional Units. This will trigger unneeded additional forms for the additional Units (see next step).
Step 9: Contact CalCERTS support and request that all of the unneeded forms for the additional units be deleted except for the CF2R-MCH-01 and CF2R-MCH-20.
After that process is complete, you can then complete the final CF2R-MCH-20, the CF3Rs, and make a payment.
