Code Cycle - 2016 & 2019 Standards
2016 Form: CF1R-SRA-01
2019 Form: CF2R-SRA-01 - The CF1R-SRA-01 was eliminated for the 2019 Standards.
Code Cycle: 2016 Standards - CF1R-SRA-01
The CF1R-SRA-01 (Solar Ready Area) is mandatory for all new construction projects. Single-family residences located in subdivisions with ten or more single-family residences are required to demonstrate compliance. There are basically 2 methods of compliance. Either meet the solar ready area or indicate the building is exempt by meeting one of the exceptions. Meeting the solar ready area does not necessarily mean that you are installing solar at this time. You can indicate that there is a space on the roof designated for future solar installations. When you do indicate there will be a designated solar area on the CF1R-SRA-01, then the SRA-02 will need to be filled out with the calculations.
In the screenshot below, If you indicate that you are exempt from this requirement, you will see that the other solar worksheets will not be required.
Code Cycle: 2019 Standards
For the 2019 code cycle, the CF1R-SRA-01 was eliminated and was changed to the CF2R-SRA-01. The same exception applies to single family residences located in subdivisions with less than 10 single family residences.
