Alterations and Additions Paper forms - When no HERS verification's are triggered by the project work-scope these forms can be 'hand written' and submitted directly to the building department.
CF1R, 2R and 3R forms (samples) - When HERS verification's are triggered by the project work-scope all of these forms must be registered with CalCERTS, a HERS Provider. The sample forms available from the CEC are templates for what the registry will produce. They are good examples to share with builders/installers and often include useful instructions within each form.
CF1R - Represents the builder's/installer's proposal to the building department at the time of permit application as to how their work-scope will meet the applicable efficiency requirements. The CF1R is often referred to as title 24 documents or energy calc's.
CF2R - Represents the as-built condition as certified by the builder's/installer's signature and is referred to as an installation certificate. The specifications on the CF2R must meet or exceed the proposed values on the CF1R.
CF3R - Is verification by a third party special inspector called HERS Raters which work on behalf of your local jurisdiction. the HERS rater inspect and diagnostically tests the installed features and ensure they meet minimum compliance criteria. When HERS verification's are triggered, all of the compliance forms must be registered with CalCERTS. Otherwise, paper forms may be used and there will be no CF3R's.
