Occasionally there will be circumstances when a consumer, building department, or other stakeholder will request a HERS Rater to test a duct system or perform a HERS verified test even though there are no Title 24 HERS verification requirements. The CalCERTS Registry supports two certificates for this purpose.
AHV (Additional HERS Verification) – Raters can add additional HERS reports to an alteration project's CF-3R section, such as a refrigerant charge test, even if the work-scope does not trigger that test.

Consumer Certificate – When an entire project (including CF-1R and CF-2R) is unnecessary and a rater just wants a place to record HERS test results, a Consumer Certificate can be made in alterations to generate HERS tests as needed.
